About us
Department of Genetic Epidemiology
The Department of Genetic Epidemiology was founded in 2001 at the University Medical Center Göttingen. It is the first independent university institution in this field in Germany. Right at the beginning, the Institute was founded as one of a few nationwide Genetic Epidemiology Methods Centers (GEM) within the framework of the National Genome Research Network and has since been able to establish itself accordingly.
